  • 4duino recognized by ide but sketch will not upload

Completely new to the arduino/4dsystem products and I am looking for some help.

Istalled arduino 1.8.5 ide on a windows xp machine.
Using usb to micro usb cable the ide recognizes when the 4duino is plugged in (com 12(4duino-2.4”)) or when not plugged in there is no com12.
Using the supplied sketch “fade” and changing “int led =9” to “int led = 13”.
Verifies fine but when I try to upload the sketch the on board led13 flashes 14 times, screen resets and I get the error page below.
I have also tried adding power to pins H3 7-8 and using a different usb cable all ending with the same error.
Would this be a bootloader problem?
Any idea what I need to do or try? Thanks Mike

    Arduino: 1.8.5 (Windows XP), Board: "4Duino - 2.4""

Global variables use 150 bytes (5%) of dynamic memory, leaving 2410 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2560 bytes.

    Hello Mike,

    Welcome to the forum,

As the 4Duino is showing up in the device manager it is unlikely to be a bootloader issue. Usually when there is a bootloader issue the port is not selectable in the Tools tab option, Port. Has it successfully programmed before or is the first use and you haven't been able to program it yet. You have been through all the checks I would have suggested. You didn't mention that you installed the 4Duino in boards manager but it does show in the above text that the 4Dduino board has been selected. You could also try an earlier version of the Arduino IDE to see if it helps.

    Best regards

    Paul

      Paul,

      Thanks for your response.

      To answer your questions.
First time user and first time trying to program the board.
Yes, I installed 4Duino in boards manager.
I will try reinstalling the ide and if I have the same problem I will try an earlier version.
      Thanks Mike
