  • Where can I obtain the Serial Commander .4XE ?

In order to do field updates, I've created code that can push new .4XE's into the display over the serial connection.

When I create a project using Genie, one of the output files is MyProj.4XE, which I can push into the display.

I'm wanting to switch some existing displays from Genie to Serial. and in order to do that I need the Serial .4XE.

Workshop4 has a button to upload the Serial Commander (4XE) to the display, but a .4XE doesn't seem to be created on my PC's harddrive as it is with Genie.

Any idea where I might be able to find the Serial Commander .4XE ?

    Thanks,
    -Dave

    Hi Dave,

You will find the 4XE file here C:\Users\YourUserID\AppData\Local\Temp\temp4D.4XE It is created after you load SPE. You will have to be sure you use the right file as it is different for every type of screen.

    I hope this helps

      Yes!
I found the file exactly where you said it would be, and I'm able to upload it & it works.
      Thanks!
