  • Save data in excel or notepad?

    I am working on a project the requires to detect and record temperature every half hour. This data should be available to user (all temperatures every half hour since system turned on).
    Is it possible to write a program that creates and updates an excel sheet (or notepad/ .txt file) for this data?
    Is there any other method I can use to store this data?

    It should look something like this: Time: 00:30; Temperature: 25
    Time: 01:30; Temperature: 25

    etc......

    I m using uLCD-70DT. Diablo-16. Writing the code in Visi.
    I m not allowed to use arduino for this project.

    Hi,

    You can create a file on the SD card to record the data using functions,

    hndl1 := file_Open("myfile.txt"');
    res := file_Write(memblock, 20, hndl1);
    res := file_Close(hndl1);

    You can find all Diablo16 file functions on page 302 here http://www.4dsystems.com.au/productp...ons_R_1_16.pdf

    It is Fairly straightforward to achieve on the Diablo16.

    It would be good to add a real time clock RTC chip or module so it will keep time even when powered down

    Best Regards

      Thank you, Pauleilio.
      Another quick question, can I use RTC chip or module directly with my uLCD-70DT? Without a microcontroller or PIC?

    Hi,

    Yes you can connect a RTC chip or module directly to your uLCD-70DT without the need for an attached microcontroller.

    This post may be of some help. http://forum.4dsystems.com.au/forum/...e-clock-ds1307

      Hi,

      Also http://www.4dsystems.com.au/productp...heet_R_1_5.pdf page 11, explains which pins are suitable for I2c connection.
