  • Where are our Smart Widgets located?

When working with the Widgets Editor I see an OK button, a Cancel button and a "Load" button.
The Load button brings in a pre-built widget like Compass.
I would also like to load up my own widgets so I can drop them into a new project.

When we press OK in the Widget Editor we go back to the form.
When we save the Genie form our widgets get saved with the form (I assume).

So to what folder do our widgets get saved?

Can we put them in the same folder (4D Labs\Smart Gauges Knobs and Sliders) as your pre-built widgets?

    Thank you for your help,
    Jim

P.S. I also want to show off my "Transparent Thermometer"

Did this thread fall in a crack?

I would still like to know where Widget Editor stores our customized widgets.

    Thanks!

In the .ImgData folder beneath the project

So what is the best way to reuse a customized widget?
i tried cut and paste, but it throws an error and blows up.

Copy and paste should work. Can you describe what 'special' about your customised widget. (maybe post a project with it by itself?)

Also you should be able to use Load and navigate to the original projects .imgdata folder and get it from there.

I also have noticed that copy and paste for smart widgets is not working. It seems that it is connected to skinny widgets disappearing. Once this happens, copy and paste will not work until Workshop is quit and relaunched. See my other post on disappearing SmartWidgets.

                Hi Scott,

Copy and paste command works in my test using Smart Widgets. Would you mind sending a copy of your customized widgets? This will help us determine where the issues are coming from. Also, I would like to request a video showing what happens to your set up.

                Best Regards,
                Danica
