  • running 4DGL programs from an uSD card?

It would be nice to store 4DGL programs on an micro uSD card and run it as a script when using the uLCD32PT in serial(SGC).

Is it possible to run 4DGL programs as scripts from a micro uSD card using the uLCD-32PT(SGC)?

For example i could send a command from my microcontroller telling the uLCD-32PT to run a certain 4DGL program as a script thats been loaded into an micro uSD card stored in the module.

You've got two distinct flavours, you have to make a choice.

If you use 4DGL you can call 4DGL programs stored on uSD

If you use SGC you can call 4DSL scripts stored on uSD

There's nothing to stop you writing some sort of 4DGL 'shell' program that just runs what it's told to by the serial port. This might be an interesting starting point http://www.4dsystems.com.au/code/index.php?node=60

what do you mean by "writing some sort of 4DGL 'shell' program that just runs what it's told to by the serial port"?

Could you give me some details on this?

The program I was specifically talking about was "SPE_alpha01.4dg" which is just some of SGC written in 4DGL.

What I was suggesting is that you modify that to accept commands like "Run 4DGL program", etc.
