Get Status command

Hi,

I am using FAT Controller to talk to uDrive, and notice it sends out get status command.
I checked GOLDELOX-DOS-COMMANDS-sis.pdf and couldn't find this command:
---One 2G card
Version 0.016 [56 00]
Get Status 0.000 [7A]
COM17 Closed
---Another 2G card
Version 0.016 [56 00]
Get Status 0.000 [7A]

Could you please explain it?

By the way, is the way to tell how big the card is? As SD cards contain a Card-Specific Data (CSD) register which holds the card's capacity.

The status command is used by FAT controller to fill in the 'device status' panel.

There is nothing of consequence for the user returned by that command.

The currently available uDrive software does not support reading the CSD.

Do you have a specific use for it? (gee I would think you know what card is in there, right? )

Can this command be used to check if there is card or not?
eg. Somebody in field has to pull the card out(full of data) and insert a new one in. The controller should be able to receive NAK when tring to access uDrive where there is no card. But NAK won't tell you if the card is damaged or removed.
So it will be good to know whether the card is there or not.

No specific use for the CSD, just thinking if controller can query this, the controller can be smarter to know when to stop, regardless the size of card.

No, it just returns the current status, it doesn't look at the card.

There is really no command that will differentiate between a broken or removed card, you will just get a NAK. INIT is probably the best 'detection' command.
