Try this VRML file - see attachment.

Also I have linked to another STEP file for you to try, saved in AP203 format rather than AP214 - which may make it compatible for you. Worth a try. I couldnt attach it as it is over the 1mb Attachment limit.

    It will appear in here:
    http://www.4dsystems.com.au/downloads/3D-Models/SOMO/

It is the STEP file with (AP203) in brackets in the file name.

    They are designed in Solidworks
A quick google search found this:
    http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?214362-Solidworks-to-Blender

    and then this:http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro/Import_and_Render_a_SolidWorks_Model

I will produce you another file type later today to try. STL or VRML appears to be worth a try.

Blender can not import IGS files!
We must convert it before in STP.
I tried with other programs the same result.
I'm surprised, however, is very common ares!
What software do you use to design this 3D model?

    Regards

Not sure if you will get a different result or not, but try importing the IGES file into Blender and see if your 3DS format then works.
Whenever converting CAD files between applications, you often get incompatibilities of some sort. There should be a combination that works however.
Try the IGES in the first link, and report back.

I converted the STEP file in STP.
After the STP with Blender exported to 3DS format, but this one is unreadable.
I do not know why, with other STEP files it works!

I will take another look at this later today.
I did a google search and found this site, which suggests how to open STEP (STP) files in Ares.
Having never used or seen Ares before, its hard for me to tell you what to do, but this might help.Go to the very bottom of the page, and the 2nd link from the bottom is a download which contains a PDF file. Its in French so you will need to convert most likely. I haven't read it, but it might help you.

Ok - Never used a U3D file, but our software is capable of saving it in that format. Hopefully that helps.

Not sure what it will come out like, but worth a try.

Ares libraries are Composed of Two files (IDX and LIB).
    Ares Also supports 3DS files.
I Can Simply convert RealWord with a U3D file in 3DS.
    Cordially.

    Hi NeriXs,
Sorry no I don't - I haven't used that software before. You requested STEP (STP) however so I assumed you would be able to use the file.

    Hello NeriXs,

As per your request, I have created a 3D model for the SOMO-14D for you.

Please note, a model for the uSD card was not available, so a simple shape has been put in its place. Also please note the headers may not be identical to the ones used, however the spacing etc should be correct.

Use the model as a reference only, while all efforts are made to ensure the model is correct, it cannot be guaranteed.

Links contains both STEP and IGES format 3D Models.

    http://www.4dsystems.com.au/downloads/3D-Models/SOMO/

I hope they work for your requirements. Any questions, please reply back.
