Yah i think your right about the programming cable not being functional, I booted up Ubuntu linux and ran "lsusb" while the cable was plugged in and got no results that were related to a programming cable... so just to be sure I unplugged the programming cable and then ran "lsusb" and the results didn't change.

To make sure that my tests were valid, I unplugged my iPhone from the computer and then ran "lsusb" and the "apple iphone...." row disappeared....

Is there a RMA program with 4d systems?

email [support at 4dsystems dot com dot au] and provide a link to this thread to save you having to explain it all again. They'll issue you with a RMA.

Can you remove all the attached devices, then insert the programming cable and then produce that list again?

        Last try.
