programming 24-pt picaso gfx

hello,
i would like to know how can i programm a picaso in gfx mode. i got the usb cable and the downloaded the right pwmmc but when i download my program into the chip, the software (workshop 3) tells me that everything is ok and that the program is in the flash memory.
But after this, the display shut down and doesn't want to work.
i really need help please because i want the display to work alone without any host.

Did you try playing around with some of the sample programs.? Like you, when i got the display, i wanted to get started right away on creating what i wanted... and failed nicely.. Writing code for thest units is kinda tricky, (at least for me being very much a nubbie).. I found that by working your way through the proven samples helps getting you thinking correctly about the sections of code you need to have.

I had to learn... "just cause it compiles doesn't mean it's going to work"

i tried many ways to display simple text but still got the same result: the display remain off.
does somebody got any example of a program which displays a simple text please?

If you install WS4 the 'default' program when starting a new project is

#inherit "4DGL_16bitColours.fnc"
