  • Maximum font size

    I have read App note 084 about displaying third party fonts and successfully used the String Editor to add and then use an Ariel font to display a string on a OLED96. Font sizes up to 36 work OK. But when I try for larger font sizes what gets displayed appears to be scrambled. What are the limits on how large a font size can be used?

    I can get 44 when using Arial.

    But certainly the small memory of Goldelox does limit you to about that. The width of the font is the limiting factor, 40 is the max width that can be produced.

    You can always use the
    txt_Height(2);
    txt_Width(2);
    To increase the size beyond what can be directly printed.

    Another option is to create a 'video' consisting of larger characters. That way you can make a 'font' of any size, you gain anti-aliasing that way, however, you lose the flexibility of fonts (i.e. the attributes, transparency, change of colour, etc.)

      Thanks for the quick response. I experimented some more and was able to use Arial Bold font up to size 45 OK.
