  • Help...My LCD stopped syching :-(

    Hi all,

I downloaded the new 4DGL pmmc using the new pmmcLoader. That successfully loaded and ever since, upon power up it blinks a white color continuously. It gives a NACK during the synch command "U".

    Please help!
    Thanks much.

    MrKodi,

The 4DGL PmmC IS NOT a serial platform. Once loaded, the device becomes a 4DGL embedded processor display and requires that you develop code using the 4DGL Workshop editor/compiler/loader to run your code directly on the PICASO processor. No host microcontroller is required. No serial "commands" are accepted.

Please take a look at the 4DGL language specification and tools in the "Developers" section of the 4D web site: http://www.4dsystems.com.au/developers

If 4DGL is not what you need or want, the good news is that you can just reload the most recent SERIAL PmmC and you're back in business.

Thank you very much for your reply. Unfortunately, I tried going back to the Firmware PmmC rev 9 by using the pmmc loader but it stays at "waiting for device". I checked and rechecked the connections but no avail :-(.

I wonder if there is a way for me to use my terminal program and "erase" the 4DGL pmmc on the device.

      Thanks again.

Please don't try that. You will most likely damage the PICASO chip.

The most common cause of the infamous "waiting on device" error is the wrong COM port selected in the PmmC Loader. Make sure you can see the USB to Serial bridge device in the "Ports (COM & LPT)" section of the Device Manager (Windows). Verify the COM port number and set that in the PmmC Loader.

        Good luck,

        Steve
