  • Specify folder & track with SOMO II

    The datasheet says:

    7E 0F 00 01 01 FF EF EF - This will start playing Folder 1 from Track 1.
    7E 0F 00 01 0A FF E6 EF - This will start playing Folder 1 from Track 10.
    7E 0F 00 63 FF FE 8F EF - This will start playing Folder 99 from Track 255.

If I want to select the Track 1 from the Folder 99 then the serial command should be 7E 0F 00 63 FF FE 70 EF ?
    For the Track 240 from Folder 1 should be 7E 0F 00 01 01 FF FF EF?
What happens in that kind of cases?

    Hi Zuko,

Parameter 1 or the fourth byte is the folder.
Parameter 2 or the fifth byte is the track number.
    Folder Track
    Start CMD FDBK Para1 Para2 CHKSUM1 CHKSUM2 End

To slightly reword the three lines from the datasheet:

    7E 0F 00 01 01 FF EF EF - This will start playing, from Folder 1, Track 1.
    7E 0F 00 01 0A FF E6 EF - This will start playing, from Folder 1, Track 10.
    7E 0F 00 63 FF FE 8F EF - This will start playing, from Folder 99, Track 255.
If I want to select the Track 1 from the Folder 99 then the serial command should be...
    7E0F006301FF8DEF

For the Track 240 from Folder 1 should be...
    7E0F0001F0FF00EF

These should play the files you specified. Kindly make sure that the file and folder names are correct.

    Hope this helps and regards.

      Thanks!

But how do I know what to send in the seventh byte?

        Its all in the Datasheet....

        Bottom of Page 6

        Checksum Calculation:
The checksum is calculated using the following formula.
        Checksum (2 bytes) = 0xFFFF -– (CMD + Feedback + Para1 + Para2) + 1
