  • Diablo 7" with Arduino

    Hi,
Is possible interface Arduino with Diablo 7" same like the uLCD-32P 3.2" ?
    Thanks

  • #2

Designer, ViSi and Genie are all available for the 7".

    There is currently no Serial.

So if you are using one of the first lot it will be the same.

      Thanks for the answer,
i saw the datasheet and was described the serial TTL...

Did you plan in the future to re-start implement TTL serial ?
For Arduino project is usefull larger display.

      Thanks again...

The 7" display has Serial TTL ports.

It doesn't have the Serial programming environment (refer Programming environments on P16 of the datasheet and "Serial Programming Environment Documentation" here http://www.4dsystems.com.au/product/10/120/Development/4D_Workshop_4_IDE/ ).

The 7" display just seemed too powerful for it and hence it was never implemented.

If you really feel there is a need for it, by all means speak up.

Yes. There is a need for it.

I have just started working on a ROV operated by Arduinos and I have added 2 µLCD-43-PT at the control but when I found uLCD-70DT it was THE thing I wanted.

            +1 !!!

I just bought two uLCD-70 to replace my uLCD-43. On the description for the display you can read, that it can replace the 4.3" display easily. I´m quite sure that some weeks ago, when I selected the uLCD-70, there was no information about the missing seriall interface on your homepage. Now I´m in the situation that I have to hand over my prototype very soon, but I can not finish it. I have no idea what to do now. I do not need the complete command set of the seriall interface. Maybe you started already and can give me at least the possibillity for reading pictures from SSD card and showing them? If so I can give you a list of seriall commands I need.

            Best Regards

Please don't do that, that's not what he said.

Diablo SPE will be almost identical to Picaso SPE.

For me this is very good news. Now I can replace my 4.3" with the 7" display without loosing some features. Thank you very much.

Are there any news related to SPE? I check day by day but I couldn´t find it up to now. When is it released?

Very sorry about all of this.

The SPE went to internal testing and it went well.

During that time a few suggested improvements and enhancements were made that were all deemed worthwhile.

Unfortunately all the above affect Picaso + Diablo + SPE + Workshop, so it was decided against making a release that would quickly be superseded with a new release, especially since there will be simultaneous update requirements to the PmmC and the SPE.

These improvements are progressing well, but I can't immediately say when the next release will be due to the significant testing that will be required.

Can you hold off for a couple of weeks?

If not, I can make the release that was internally tested available to you.
