  • 4DPI-32 Display Endurance

    Hello,

We are looking to use a 4DPI-32 in an industrial application wich is been powered 24h/day, but I have a doubt regarding to the display lifetime.

By turning the backlight ON/OFF or changing the PWM is it possible to have larger lifetime?

To turn ON/OFF the display, I must select in the jumper J1 the ON/OFF mode, add "4dpi.pwm = 0" in the /boot/cmdline.txt and echo either 0 or 1 in the file /sys/class/backlight/4dpi/brightness, is it OK?

    Thanks

    Hello Enrique

Yes the display life is basically determined by the life of the backlight, so if you dim (with PWM) or turn it off, you will increase the life of the display.

    What you said is correct.

    Regards
    James
