  • ACK Problem

Hi. I'm using a XC2287(infineon) to connect to the cam, using the TTL serial port pins and Tasking C166 C language application.
(Connection : PC-----USB----XC2287----ASC TTL Serial ------ uCAM ll / I can see Sync signal on uCAM ll RX pin )

we tried to connect with Ucam 2, when we tried to send sync signal with workshop program, and than we got the results like below.

    Bud rate = 9600bps
    Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <67 67> Response to Sync incorrect length
    Sync failed, is uCam connected?
    Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <67 67> Response to Sync incorrect length
    Sync failed, is uCam connected?
    Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <67 67> Response to Sync incorrect length
    Sync failed, is uCam connected?

now we can get 2byte, sometimes we got 12byte depanding on the kbaud. can u teach me how can we deal with this problem??

Thanks for reading our question. I hope we can get reply ASAP.

The uCAM does not work well at 9600, given the slowness of that baud rate for passing an image I'm kind of surprised that you are trying to use it.

Try 19200, the camera works fine at that speed, although that is still pretty slow

      Thanks for your reply.

Baud rate 9600 is just example for showing the problem!

we attempted to work in various baud rate and we got the same results like below

      Opening COM4 Speed=115200 baud
      Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <73 73 73 73 6F 73 40 02 73> Response to Sync incorrect length
      Sync failed, is uCam connected?
      Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <73 73 73 6F 73 60 02 73> Response to Sync incorrect length
      Sync failed, is uCam connected?

      Opening COM4 Speed=56000 baud
      Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <73 73 73 73 86 73 FC 73> Response to Sync incorrect length
      Sync failed, is uCam connected?
      Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <73 73 73 86 73 FC 73 86 FC> Response to Sync incorrect length
      Sync failed, is uCam connected?
      Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <73 73 73 73 84 73 F8 73> Response to Sync incorrect length
      Sync failed, is uCam connected?
      Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <73 73 73 86 73 F8 73> Response to Sync incorrect length
      Sync failed, is uCam connected?
      Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <73 73 84 73 F8 73 86 FC 73> Response to Sync incorrect length
      Sync failed, is uCam connected?

      Opening COM4 Speed=14400 baud
      Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <73 73 FA 73 73 73 73 FA> Response to Sync incorrect length
      Sync failed, is uCam connected?
      Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <73 73 73 FA 73 73 73> Response to Sync incorrect length
      Sync failed, is uCam connected?
      Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <73 FA 73 73 FA 73 73> Response to Sync incorrect length
      Sync failed, is uCam connected?
      Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <73 73 73 FA 73 FA 73> Response to Sync incorrect length
      Sync failed, is uCam connected?

also we can't set the 19200 baud rate in 4Ducamiidemo Program.

      we can only set the baud rate with 9600, 14400, 56000, 57600, 115200, 921600bps.

how can we deal with this problem? and
what do i need for another baud rate setting?

      Thanks for reading our question.

Hmm, ok, I think I assumed the wrong thing.
The 19200 baud rate can be 'changed to' once everything is working, it is not available for autobauding

OK, lets start again. (The information in the log supplied above looks very odd)

        uCAM-II disconnected (i.e. powered down).
Start the demo software (leave the baud rate as is)
        Connect the camera
        Set the correct comms port
        Click Open Comms
        Click Sync
What do you get? (please post the log)

Unfortunately, I can see the same problem!

          Opening COM12 Speed=56000 baud
          Sync [AA 0D 00 00 00 00] <73 73 73 73 73 73> Response to Sync not correct
          Sync failed, is uCam connected?

I can see the not correct ACK data.

How can i deal with this problem......?

How is the camera connected to the computer?

Are you sure you can the correct com port selected?

            Can you post a photo?

Oh, i connect the uCAM ll succesfully!

I make mistakes in code, and i solve the problem!

              Thank you so much!

              And, I have another problem.

I like to initialize and get picture with 8 bit-gray 80X60 resolrution, raw mode.

              After receiving the picture data from uCAM ll, what ACK signal(ex. AA 0D 00 00 00 00 / AA 0E FF 00 00 00) i send to u CAM ll?

I can't receive the picture data after receiving first picture data in my source code.

              Thanks for reading our question.

Does the demo software work correctly in this mode?

Perhaps you can see a difference between what you are doing and what it does

I attached screenshot which we selected 8-bit gray, 80x60, and raw picture mode. this mode worked well when we tried to work it with XC -2287 kit.

I saved image as a BMP but I couldn't upload as a BMP because web site problem. so I attached result picture with JPEG image. I hope u can know my intention.

I thought I need to show you our result and I want to ask again about my question.

                  As I said,

                  After receiving the picture data from uCAM ll, what ACK signal(ex. AA 0D 00 00 00 00 / AA 0E FF 00 00 00) i send to u CAM ll?

I can't receive the picture data after receiving first picture data in my source code.

I hope I can listen your opinion soon. Thanks for reading our question.

The standard ACK is the one to send (AA 0E FF 00 00 00), you can see that in the demo software.

                    AA 0D 00 00 00 00 is the Sync command

                      Thank you.

I solved the all problem, and I conect uCAM ll with my XC2287 MCU board successfully.

                      Seriously, thanks for your response.

                      Thanks. Have a nice day~

How are you powering the camera?

Is it really connected to COM7?

Can you supply a picture of your setup?

usb to rs232 converter and then rx/tx/gnd to camera and gnd to power supply the same as +5V to camera

The uCam-II is ttl serial, I don't think feeding it RS232 level stuff will help
