  • Code to read a iButton

    Hello

I'm busy working on a project using the following :

    1. iButton
    2. Tagreader
    3. uLCD 24PTU
    4. Workshop 4D Visi

I want to create my project for when the person insert the iButton in the tag reader it should then look for data and if there is any data it should switch from form 1 to form 2. Yes I tried google for days and I went through the App notes but could only find RFID

Does anyone know what code I can use or even a simple example would do.
    I really need help

    Thanks

I imagine your iButton is onewire.

So this app note should be of assistance http://www.4dsystems.com.au/appnote/4D-AN-00070/

Hello Mark, I tried the link you send me but still no luck, I can't pick up any data on the tag.

I see the command on my RX COM0 but no data from the tag.

        Regards

Can you show us how everything is connected up and the code you are using?

Perhaps some urls to the hardware you are using as well

The 4D screen is connected to my laptop using a mini USB cable for programming

            testtry = My Project
test Prog and protocol= you can use the app in the folder to send commands and use to see more or less what I want to do

            Thanks for the help

Where does this "uLCD32-1W" thing come from?

As you can see from the app note I pointed you to you can talk to 1-Wire directly you don't need extra hardware in between.

Anyway if you look at the 'uLCD32-1W Protocol' document you can see that you have to send something to the serial port before it will respond.
