  • Baud Rate question

i have a 4.3 PT screen and its connected to an arduino mega on serial 2
is there any issues with connecting at 115200 baud rate as all seems to work but i'm having trouble reading from a text file. would it be the baud rate or the code

The baud rate error % is pretty high at 115200. Try using 200000.

Most devices cannot do exactly the specified baud rate and thus have an error %age, for communication to be reliable, you try to keep this error below 2%, although the actual error %age that becomes unworkable depends on a lot of things, including the method the hardware uses to handle the differences

At 115200 baud Arduino is really 111111 baud (-3.55%), Picaso is 117187 (+1.73%) and Diablo is 118243(+2.64%), this means the total error is 5.28% to Picaso and 6.19% to Diablo, both of which are too high.

At 200000 baud Arduino is really 200000 baud(0.00%), Picaso is 200892(+1.02%) and Diablo is 198862(-0.57%) , this means the total error is within our 2% target
