  • 4DPi-24-HAT: Comes with 5 little press buttons

    Guys,
Is there a driver that makes the five press buttons useful? I noticed the Adafruit folk have a similar display (that you have to add your own switches to) that comes with a driver to shut the unit down under one of the buttons.

Currently with no touch screen (see another thread of mine) I'm a bit dead in the water regards taking to it. It would be useful if each button could run a user script some how if configured.

    Hello

There is some example to make these 5 buttons work, yes. They are not linked to the Raspberry Pi, but instead talk directly to the Xilinx processor on the HAT itself, which then passes them to the Pi over SPI etc.

The example code is in the back of the Datasheet, page 13 on.

James, thanks again. Tried the second Keyboard example to include the "Shutdown" method via the on-board buttons. Its been a while but I assume I can simply run the executable in the background and get on with other things with the keyboard now live.
