  • Workshop4 IDE version 4.2.0.8: uploading a form without using the IDE

    Hi,

we are using IDE version 4.2.0.8 to develop our forms. During the display preparation procedure, one must upload a form in the display RAM.

Is there some way to do the upload without using the IDE, for example from the command line running a specific .EXE with parameters ? Those who will do that preparation are not developpers, but technicians that prepares systems before shipping.

    Thanks

If you upgrade to the latest version, you will find a utility called 'GuiProgramLoader' which you can use for this.

Also see SCriptC and C:\Users\Public\Documents\4D Labs\SCRIPTS for examples. This can be used from batch files.

      Hi,

may I install the new version and copy GuiProgramLoader plus needed files to a computer and use it to load forms created with 4.2.0.8 ?

      Thanks

          Mark,

yes it works fine. We will use the GUI utility, it's quite simple to use. By the way, just a small glitch: the name is LoadProgram.exe, not GUIProgramLoader. Maybe the name was changed, the version I downloaded was 4.0.16b.
