  • Diablo Internal Functions file_Index

In theDIABLO16 Internal 4DGL Functions document: The Description for file_Index(...) says:

    " . . . so subsequent data may be read from that position onwards with file_GetC(...), file_GetW(...), file_GetS(...), . . .

    Shouldn't this list include file_Read(...) and file_Write(...) ?

    The functions in the list

    . . . so subsequent data may be read from that position onwards with file_GetC(...), file_GetW(...), file_GetS(...), . . .

These functions move the file pointer, but the function file_Read() only reads from the start up to the specified byte size and does not move the file pointer. The function file_Write() starts at the end of the file and writes the specified byte size.

That is why it is not included in the list, as the list of functions moves the file pointer.
