  • 4D screen direct communication to instrument via RS-232

    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if it is possible to use a 4D screen to communicate directly through RS-232 (maybe using a converter from 3.3V lines to RS-232 as MAX232) with an instrument, for example a Keithley multimeter.
    Have any you tried?Any tips?
Once overcome the hardware issue, that I think it could work. Is there any library to easily code/decode commands in IEEE 488.2?

    Best regards

    Hello,

We do have a RS232 solution, the MOTG-RS232, that will convert from TTL serial to RS232. http://www.4dsystems.com.au/product/motg/ It is configurable to convert the main serial port com0 or to use com1 on a different set of GPIO pins. There is no additional code required as it just converts from 1 level to another.

I don't know of any IEEE 488.2 library but I will make some enquiries.

    I hope this helps

    Best regards

    Paul
