  • Blank screen after running updates on RPi

    https://www.element14.com/community/...ower-up-config

Having a really tough time installing updates and getting blank screen. Please see my blog link outlining the issues I am having. What am I doing wrong?

When the blank screen happens - the system is completely locked up - it does not appear active on my network; nothing comes out the HDMI. Its like it won't even boot.

I guess a summary question - What kernel should I use for the 4Dpi-24 + RPi 3B and Raspbian?

Am I able to run updates after installing this kernel?

    Hi aspork42,

    Good Day.

    Welcome to the forum.

The latest kernel that we have is 4.9.59 which can be used for the latest raspbian image release 2017-11-29. You can download the kernel using the link below.

    http://www.4dsystems.com.au/download...59_v1.2.tar.gz

We recommend to update the raspberry pi before you install the kernel. Updating after installing the kernel may cause some issue like files can be corrupted.

    Hope this helps.

    BR,
    Ferdinand

            Thanks!
I am trying to get the buttons working but the sample python code in the data sheet won’t compile. Will this new kernel help with that? I have made a different / new post for that question.

              Hi aspork42,

              Good Day.

Try the test.py on the attached test.zip file to test the buttons. Tested on the new kernel.
              Hope this helps.
