  • getting V13 SPE Firmware for Picaso

    Hi,
we use the Picaso Display successfully for some time in Serial Mode. Now we received some new Displays from our Distributor.
we have some Problems with the SPE FW for Picaso V14 – our pictures / font types on sd card are not displayed.
Its a little bit time critical - so i dont have enough time to investigate the problem.
Could you please send me the Version V13 - these one is working fine for me. I would like to make a downgrade from 14 to 13 on our new Displays.

    thanks!

    Hello Peter,

    Welcome to the forum!

Based on the symptoms that you've described, it seems that this could be an issue with the uSD card that you're using rather than the SPE version.

If you would open SPE2PV14.INC on C:\Users\Public\Documents\4D Labs\4DUpdates\Utils you would see a comment saying:

"2016/02/22 1.4 fixed PeekM and PokeM commands, they were not working"

That's the only improvement done between the two releases.

Please be aware that not all uSD cards could support SPI.

This forum thread might guide you in choosing your uSD cards:

Additionally, may I know if you've changed anything on your setup?

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    Michael

      Hi Michael,
      we dont changed the setup.
ive tested a FW Update from V13 to V14 with same working displays.
V13 works, V14 dont work.. Using the same SD Card (which is included in the Display package). So i dont believe
      in a SD Card problem.
Perhaps its a timing issue with the newer firmware.
Could someone send me the older V13 FW or explain how to roll back to V13 in 4D workshop - so i have more time to investigate. this would be great.
      thanks!

        Hello Peter,

May I have the current PmmC version for your display? While on that may I know what module you're using?

        Here's a link to SPE2PV13.INC

        1. Go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\4D Labs\4DUpdates\Utils.

        2. Look for SPE2PV14.INC and move it outside the folder

NOTE: This file is critical for Loading SPEs onto your display, please make sure to make a back-up for it.

        3. Replace SPE2PV14.INC with the file on the link

        4. Restart Workshop4.

Workshop4 should now be loading SPE2 rev 1.3 to your display.

        Best regards,
        Michael

          Hi,
I removed the SPE2PV14.INC V14 from C:\Users\Public\Documents\4D Labs\4DUpdates\Utils and could downgrade to V13. The Displays are working fine with this Version.
I will investigate this in the next days.
          thanks
