  • Serial connection with TI Microprocessors

    Hello everyone,

I usually use TI devices such as MSP and DSP. So I wanted to connect my MSP with a Picaso display, but I couldn''t find any
'C' serail library. I've only found an Arduino library wich will not work with my device.

What can I do about it? My objective with the display is to show some variables in Real-Time.

I'll be so glad if someone help me .

    Best regards,

    - Severo

    Hi Severo,

    Welcome to the forum!

Fortunately, there's an available C serial library for Picaso display which can be found here: Picaso-Serial-C-Library.

Hopefully, this is the thing you're looking for.

    Best regards,
    Kayven

      Hey Kayven,

      thank you for the link!!

I saw the codes, and now I have some questions about the library:

      1. It uses the windows library, as I can see in the line "#include <windows.h>", right??
      2. I don't think some functions like "ReadFile" or "WriteFile" will work with the MSP,
so should I do a Port for the code?

      Best regards,
      -Severo

        Hi Severo,

Yes, it uses windows.h for windows user-programming.
and also, you can port this if you are using a different platform.

        Best regards.

          Hello again, Kayven!!!

I did a port to TI MSP430, and now it's working fine with the UART.
          Thank you for the support.

          Best regards,
          -Severo
