    Hello,

That's a bit tricky to implement with ViSi-Genie.

Since the gauge object is not an input object (unlike button, slider, knob, etc...), you cannot set an event by touching it. Here are a few suggestions:

    1. Place a userbutton over the gauge, then catch the event for the userbutton. The user button should look similar to the gauge(e.g. a screen shot of the gauge object) The draw back of this is if you've changed the value of the gauge object, you'll also need to change the value of the userbutton or else it would look like the gauge is "blinking" from its original value to its current value every time it is touched.

    2. Use a Magic object to catch the touch event on the gauge object, you'll need a pro license to implement this though.

More information could be found on this application note:

ViSi-Genie How to Add Magic Objects:

    3. Switch to the Serial environment. As you may know, the ViSi Genie and Serial Environments are quite similar since they are both host dependent. Although the ViSi Genie environment is more beginner friendly, the Serial Environment allows more flexibility/control over the widgets.

These application notes might help you if you choose this option:

    I hope this helps.

Spawn an event when object (gauge meter) is pressed

    Hello

    A short introduction:

I'm using a Gen4-uLCD-50DCT for an application where the user can select between different parameters he wants to adjust.

The parameters are shown as values on different gauge meters. The values are adjusted by turning a rotary encoder,

I want the user to be able to select the value he wants to modify by pressing the associated gauge meter, and then turing the encoder.

    My question is:

How do I spawn an event when a gauge meter is pressed?

Right now I can only spawn events when buttons are pressed.

I'm using the ViSi Genie IDE.

I'm using a ST uController as 'host' and commucating with the LCD over serial.

Working...
