  • MOTG-Wifi-ESP crystal freq?

The Espressif download tool reports the following when I erase:

    flash vendor:
    E0h : N/A
    flash devID:
    4014h
    QUAD;8Mbit
    crystal:
    26 Mhz

I duly set the 26Mhz radio button on the RFConfig tab. I'm puzzled by what I then see, which is a partially corrupted signon message at 74880baud and then the unit switches to 115200 baud and acts correctly.

What am I doing wrong? Can I trust the reported 8mb and 26mhz values? And how large is the flash / how is it arranged on my MOTG-wifi module? TIA Howard

    Hi Howard,

Yes the reported information is correct. 26Mhz is correct. The flash size is 8Mbit which is 1Mbyte of flash. From what I remember, that behavior is correct. The default baud rate is 74880 on boot but the AT-Commands set baud rate default is 115200. The boot message is quite annoying and it would be good if it could be turned off but it isn't possible to disable it.

    Best regards

    Paul
