  • Updating Workshop4

I have been using ver 4.1.1.4 Due to the new 4G displays, apparently I need to update software. I downloaded 4.5xx. When I try to install, I get error message that I have old version and need to delete public folders. What are the public folders? I am hesitant to remove old version (I am supporting a couple of projects at the version). Is this the only way to get new version installed (delete old first?)?

    Error Message?

The only message says "Note: Files in the '4D Labs' Public Folders are not uninstalled, remove them manually to create a clean install."

What it means is that any files you have 'updated' in these folders will not be replaced with the 'original' 4D supplied files and any new files you have created will remain.

So in most cases you can ignore this Note, if you want to have your cake and eat it too, simply rename the folder at this point.

The full folder name is usually C:\Users\Public\Documents\4D Labs
