  • Visi Genie to Code

    Good morning all,

One of my colleagues has made mock ups for our display (35DCT-CLB), using Visi Genie.

Unfortunately, we need to access the code, as we will be using the display in serial mode, and we can't work out every command that we need to use.

Is there any way we can do this, or is it just trial and error?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

    Welcome to the forum.

ViSi Genie environment "offers a serial communication protocol called the Genie Standard Protocol. The protocol provides access to a majority of the display's features and gives the host detailed information on the current state of all the objects used in the display application." All the commands and parameters are documented in the ViSi-Genie Reference Manual. The reference manual should be used in conjunction with ViSi-Genie User Guide.

Workshop4 IDE(ViSi-Genie Environment) comes with an Internal Debugger called Genie Test Executor or GTX for you to test out all the commands.

If you need to access the code, you could save the ViSi-Genie project to ViSi. Navigate to File -> Save As -> Visi projects (*.4dViSi). Please note that you have to compile the Genie project first before saving it to *.4dViSi.

I hope this helps. If you have any additional query, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Best regards,
    Sherwin
