  • Arduino Program Writing a Value to a String on the Display

    Hi there,

    I am still very new to 4D Systems, especially the genie programming when implementing into arduino program.

    Do I have to setup the display to communicate with the Arduino in the setup part of the arduino program? If so how do I go about writing this?

    Also, can I have a simple example of writing a string value to a string on the display from the arduino to the display?

    Many thanks

    Hi Sean,

    Thanks for the info about you're using Visi Genie.

    Yes there is a startup routine for Visi Genie and I will prepare a simple WriteStr example.

    Best regards

    Paul

      Hi Sean,

      Could you please let me know which Arduino you are using.

      Best regards

        Hi Sean,

        you could try this attached demo.

        Your Genie project only needs to hold a single string object.

        The reset procedure is explained in the code but if you have any problems. Use this code if you are not using 4D Arduino adapter

        Code:
        pinMode(RESETLINE, OUTPUT); // Set D4 on Arduino to Output (4D Arduino Adaptor V2 - Display Reset)
        digitalWrite(RESETLINE, 0); // Reset the Display via D4
        delay(100);
        digitalWrite(RESETLINE, 1); // unReset the Display via D4
        or this code if you are using 4D Arduino adapter

        Code:
        pinMode(RESETLINE, OUTPUT); // Set D4 on Arduino to Output (4D Arduino Adaptor V2 - Display Reset)
        digitalWrite(RESETLINE, 1); // Reset the Display via D4
        delay(100);
        digitalWrite(RESETLINE, 0); // unReset the Display via D4
        Also make sure RESETLINE is set to the output pin you have chosen on the Arduino if not using the 4D Arduino adapter.

        Best regards
