  • Workshop4 can't find my device, but Arduino IDE works out fine.

    Hi,

I just bought a GEN4-IOD-24T, and I tried Arduino IDE first since my computer already has Arduino IDE. Examples from GFX4d in Arduino work fine. BUT! when I tried to work with workshop4 it keeps telling me "Device is not responding" on Comms page.

It's kinda frustrating. I think all the serial port settings and FFC connections are correct otherwise Arduino can't work.
Hope someone can give a hand, really want to use workshop4 for UI design. Thanx.

    Hi,

    Welcome to the forum.

When you setup the com port in the comms tab, you can ignore the "Device is not responding" message for the IoD as Workshop only calls the Arduino IDE when you click on Compile or Comp'n'Load. This message only applies to our other range of displays.

    I hope this helps

    Best regards

    Paul

    Hi, Paul

I got some garbled texts when compiling. Any way to fix it?

      Hi JJ

I haven't seen that happen on the IoD before. I will do somes tests and try to see if I can replicate it here.

Do you get the same output if you use the Arduino IDE directly ?

      Best regards

      Paul

        Hi, Paul

I don't see any garbled texts in Arduino IDE. But after changing the Arduino IDE editor language to English, this problem is solved.
        Thanks again.
