  • 3v3 in over GPIO header

Can we power pixxiLCD-20P2-CTP-CLB and pixxiLCD-13P2-CTP-CLB from the 3v3 pin in the gpio header?
From the schematics, I see no reason why it should not work.

    Thanks

    Hello,

No, because the LED backlight of the display runs off the 5V bus. I dont imagine the 5V bus will be back powered through the regulator, by putting 3.3V into its output.

You could put 3.3V into the 5V pin, but your backlight will be dimmer than normal. Be sure your 3.3V supply is regulated and smooth.

I cant see a reason it wouldn't work, putting 3.3V into the 5V pin, but you need to consider the brightness issue and if that is a factor for you or not, also the regulator wont be regulating, so will be passing what you put in to it, unless you go over 3.3V and it might partially regulate.

You might find the module will work down to about 3V, but once you hit the forward voltage limit of the LED's, they will shut off. 3.3V should be fine though, but you will need to try yourself.

    Regards
