  • Teensy 4.1 board with 8 serial ports.

The Teensy 4.1 board has 8 serial ports. I will be using the Arduino IDE to programe this board. My understanding is that the code to read and write values to a serial port is simply done via referencing the serial port, such as Serial1 or Serial2.............Serial8 etc.
Is there any limitation in the development environment that would prevent me writing to 8 separate serial ports with an LCD display attached to each.

    Hi Rob

No that should work fine, you can have a display attached to each UART of the Teensy, provided there are no limitations with Teensy itself, it should be fine.

If you use ViSi-Genie, then our genieArduino library has a demo which shows how to do multiple displays. It shows 2, but you can just expand it to do more as you need.
Never tried 8 before, but I cant see why it wouldn't work.

Then in the Workshop4 IDE, you just need to design your ViSi-Genie 8 applications, and use the library above to write the values to each of the displays from the Arduino IDE code using the Teensy.
