  • Gif not displaying (black overlay)

    Hi,

I'm fairly new to using the Workshop software, I have a video playing fine and running on my Gen4-uLC-24 however when I try and use a Gif image the Workshop software doesn't seem to recognise them right. I get a black overlay for the image on the right, as per screenshot below and it will not display once compiled and ran. Can anyway help? Does it support .gif is it a format issue?

Where did the gif come from?

There are many, many 'options' within the gif format and many are contradictory within the gif specification, so some gif renderers can produce different outputs from the same gif.

If you made the gif yourself, try using a 'userimages' object instead.

Thanks, just downloaded a couple of .gifs of the internet as a tests, but they all have the same issue. I'll try the userimage object and see if that works. - Rich

You could also try https://ezgif.com/optimize or some of the other tools on https://ezgif.com
I have used them before when modifying gif files, and some of the optimization methods do not work right in Workshop4, so you can try and remove optimizations etc and see how you get on.
