Issue with output from Programming cable to UwTerminalX

I have just downloaded and installed the corresponding drivers for the 4D programming cable(CP210x). I am using UwTerminalX to read my serial port connection and output the stream of data. However, when I link my cable up to a device, and use UwTerminalX to output this stream of data, instead of coherent data I am getting symbols. Is there any further configuration needed on this cable?

Does the baud rate of the device you connected on the programming cable is the same with the settings on UwTerminalX?
